Saturday, Mar 30th 2019—Opening day!
It may have been a bit gray, but otherwise a great day to start prepping for the start of the 10th season at the Interfaith Garden! We raked, cleaned up asparagus beds, spread compost, and did general garden cleanup. The first signs of spring in the garden were the rhubarb and garlic breaking through the soil.
This morning’s crew included the bees. Yes, that is one of the hives on the right. Alix, the beekeeper, had predicted they were about to get active and we can confirm that was true this morning. Alix reports each hive can house up to 60,000 bees!
